Amends Section 34-8-7 of the Alabama Code to expand exemptions from general contractor licensing requirements by adding pressure washing services to the list of exempt routine landscape maintenance work

Adds new exemptions for routine maintenance, repair, or removal of existing security/access control systems, lighting/filter systems, plumbing/air conditioning/electrical systems, and existing paint on painted surfaces

Adds exemption for routine cleaning, waste disposal, and janitorial services including floor cleaning, stripping, and waxing

Removes the separate provision regarding swimming pool contractor exemptions, consolidating residential swimming pool construction under the existing residential construction exemption

Effective date: October 1, 2026; passed Alabama Senate unanimously (34-0) on February 25, 2026
