Jefferson County must contribute $1,600,000 annually from its gas tax revenues

Municipalities within Jefferson County must collectively contribute $400,000 annually, with each municipality's share calculated proportionally based on their percentage of total gas tax revenues received in the county

Jefferson County may withhold required municipal contributions from future gas tax distributions and must annually calculate and certify each municipality's required amount

Effective October 1, 2026, with the City of Birmingham administering the funds in coordination with Jefferson County
