Marion Military Institute may establish an associate's degree program that includes the basic training curriculum required for law enforcement officer certification through the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC).

Graduates receive provisional law enforcement officer certification upon graduation, which converts to full certification when hired full-time by an Alabama law enforcement agency.

Students enrolled in the program are not required to be employed by a law enforcement agency during their training, unlike traditional academy requirements.

The provisional certification period must be at least six months; if the graduate is not hired by an Alabama agency before expiration, they must complete standard commission training to become certified.
