Alabama Legislature mourns the death of Sam Palmer Faucett III of Northport, who passed away on December 26, 2025, at age 90

Faucett had a 38-year banking career at City National Bank of Tuscaloosa (later Regions Bank), serving as Chair and CEO of the Tuscaloosa Bank and retiring in 2000

Led the 1984 merger creating Alabama's first regional chamber of commerce, the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, and was named to the Tuscaloosa County Civic Hall of Fame in 2005

Served 12 years on Northport City Council, briefly as Mayor, and 25 years on the DCH Regional Medical Center board

Donated $1.45 million to build Tuscaloosa County High School, which was named the Sam P. Faucett Campus in his honor
