Honors Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan David Shultz, USAF (Retired), of Huntsville, Alabama, who passed away on August 28, 2025, at age 52 following a battle with brain cancer

Lt. Col. Shultz served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force and Alabama Air National Guard, retiring in 2016, with roles including Fighter Pilot, Instructor Pilot, Flight Commander, and Squadron Leader

Accumulated more than 2,400 flight hours, including 423 combat hours over 100 combat sorties in Operations Northern Watch, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom

Received numerous military decorations including the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, and NATO Medal
