HB1163 Summary

• Adds Arkansas Code 27-65-145 requiring the Director of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to provide comprehensive highway information reports to all General Assembly members at the start of each regular and fiscal session.

• Director must report the location of the 10 most congested routes in urban areas and 10 most congested routes in rural areas, defined by specific vehicle traffic thresholds ranging from 9,000 to 80,000 vehicles daily depending on road type.

• Director must identify the 3 most dangerous transportation areas in the state regarding collisions, fatalities, or potential for collisions and fatalities, including bridges, highways, roads, and intersections.

• Director must provide per-capita state and federal highway expenditure data (including discretionary funds) for each congressional district and State Highway Commission district over the previous 10 years.

• Director must report the number of miles of the state highway system located in each congressional district and each State Highway Commission district.
