AR HB1426

Allows persons to apply to the Office of Driver Services for a medical exemption designation for seat belt use on their driver's license or identification card.

Requires applicants to provide physician documentation under Arkansas Code § 27-37-702(b)(2) and pay the applicable driver's license or identification card fee.

Establishes reduced fee for duplicate or substitute licenses with the medical exemption designation if the current license has not expired, as provided under § 27-16-806.

Grants the Office of Driver Services authority to determine placement of the medical exemption designation on licenses and promulgate rules for administering this section.

Does not require persons with medical conditions contraindicating seat belt use to obtain the medical exemption designation.
