Pawnbrokers must return stolen personal property to the true owner at no cost upon the owner's request after a court has found the property belongs to the true owner.

A pawnbroker who fails or refuses to return property after a court finds it belongs to the true owner shall be charged with contempt of court.

Pawnbrokers found in contempt of court for refusing to return stolen property must pay all reasonable expenses incurred by the owner in recovering the property, including court costs and attorneys' fees.

Pawnbrokers must also pay any damages suffered by the true owner as a result of failing or refusing to return the property when requested.
