Senate Bill 482 Summary

• Appropriates $500,000 to the Department of Education - Arkansas School for the Blind for maintenance, renovation, equipping, construction, acquisition, improvement, upgrade, and repair of real property and facilities.

• Funds must be payable from the General Improvement Fund or its successor fund, contingent upon State Treasury funds actually available.

• Allows the Arkansas School for the Blind to supplement state funds with grants, donations, Federal funds, and unobligated cash income to finance project costs.

• Requires strict compliance with State Purchasing Law, General Accounting and Budgetary Procedures Law, Revenue Stabilization Law, and other applicable fiscal control laws in fund disbursement.
