SB 508 Summary

• Appropriates $50,000 to the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission for grants to Levee Districts for planning, evaluations, studies, and action plans when levees are found out of compliance and needing repair

• Funds payable from the General Improvement Fund or its successor fund or fund accounts

• Exempts appropriations from restrictions applicable to other programs and authorizes adoption of new rules and regulations to carry out the intent of the General Assembly

• Requires compliance with State Purchasing Law, General Accounting and Budgetary Procedures Law, Revenue Stabilization Law, and other fiscal control laws unless specifically exempted by law

• Becomes effective July 1, 2011, with emergency clause due to constitutional prohibition on multi-year appropriations
