SB 693 Summary

• Appropriates $50,000 to the Economic Development Commission for grants to film festivals and film institutes for personal services, operating expenses, construction, improvements, equipment, renovation, and maintenance.

• Funds to be paid from the General Improvement Fund or its successor fund or fund accounts.

• Appropriations are not restricted by requirements applicable to other programs currently administered, and new rules and regulations may be adopted to carry out the intent of the General Assembly.

• Contracts and obligations are limited to State Treasury funds actually available, but institutions may supplement with grants, donations, Federal funds, and unobligated cash income.

• Act becomes effective July 1, 2011 and is declared an emergency measure necessary for proper agency operation.
