Teachers must complete a minimum of 8 hours of annual professional development credit in special education if they have a child with a disability in their classroom during the current school year or anticipate having one in the following school year

Public school districts must include the professional development credit received under this section in a teacher's professional development plan required under Arkansas Code § 6-17-704

Professional development credit earned under this section counts toward fulfillment of professional development requirements established by the Standards for Accreditation of Arkansas Public Schools and School Districts as promulgated by the Department of Education

Amends Arkansas Code Title 6, Chapter 17, Subchapter 7 by adding new section 6-17-708 on professional development for special education
