• Ms. Myra Lee Jones of Little Rock, Arkansas, died on February 20, 2012, at age 75 and the House of Representatives recognizes her commitment, hard work, dedication, and years of service.

• Ms. Jones served as the first woman elected to a full term on the Little Rock City Board of Directors (1977-1984), including four years as Vice-Mayor, and served seven terms in the Arkansas House of Representatives (1985-1998) as the first woman to chair a standing committee.

• She was a professional musician with a master's degree in music education from Drake University, a licensed realtor, local government affairs consultant, and served 17 years on the board of Noram Energy, becoming one of the first women from Arkansas to serve on a Fortune 500 Board.

• Ms. Jones held leadership positions in numerous civic organizations including the Little Rock Rotary Club, Women's Foundation of Arkansas, Junior Achievement of Arkansas, Greater Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, and the National League of Cities.
