SB 15 Summary

• Reappropriates unused balance of $80,000 from Act 359 of 2011 for youth tutoring and literacy programs, effective July 1, 2012.

• Reappropriates unused balance of $175,000 from Act 359 of 2011 for adult education programs and post-secondary institutions for literacy services and tutoring, effective July 1, 2012.

• Reappropriates unused balance of $20,000 from Act 848 of 2011 for adult education, literacy, and workplace skills training programs, effective July 1, 2012.

• Requires all disbursements to comply with State Purchasing Law, General Accounting and Budgetary Procedures Law, Revenue Stabilization Law, and Department of Finance and Administration regulations.

• Declares an emergency effective July 1, 2012 to prevent irreparable harm to essential governmental programs.
