AR HB1014

Extends concealed handgun license exemption to current or former certified law enforcement officers, chiefs of police, and county sheriffs if otherwise authorized to carry a concealed handgun.

Excludes former certified law enforcement officers whose employment was terminated due to disciplinary reasons or disqualifying criminal offenses from the licensing exemption.

Deems auxiliary law enforcement officers certified by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training as certified law enforcement officers for purposes of the concealed handgun licensing subchapter.

Requires auxiliary law enforcement officers to have completed minimum training requirements and carry written authorization from their chief of police or county sheriff to be exempt from licensing requirements.

Mandates auxiliary law enforcement officers produce their written authorization upon demand by law enforcement officers or owners/operators of prohibited places.
