AR HB1151

Repeals Arkansas Code §§ 22-9-301 through 22-9-315, which comprise the entire Arkansas Prevailing Wage Law requiring minimum wage payments on public works projects.

Eliminates requirements for public bodies to pay workers the prevailing hourly wage rate based on similar work in the county or locality for construction projects exceeding $75,000 in labor and material costs.

Removes Department of Labor authority to investigate wage violations, determine prevailing wage rates annually, assess penalties, and recover unpaid wages on public works projects.

Exempts cities, counties, and the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department from prevailing wage requirements for highway, road, street, and bridge construction and maintenance.

Allows greater flexibility for local governments and contractors in determining compensation for capital construction projects without federal prevailing wage mandates.
