AR HB1814

Requires each state agency and public institution of higher education to create and maintain a policy to prevent and eliminate discrimination in pay based on employee sex, as prohibited under existing Arkansas law.

Mandates the Department of Finance and Administration submit annual fiscal year reports to the Legislative Council for each state agency containing employee counts by sex, special entry rates by sex, and average compensation data organized by sex and position classification code.

Requires the Department of Higher Education to submit similar annual reports for each public institution of higher education with the same compensation equality information.

Reports must begin July 1, 2014, and be submitted annually thereafter by July 1 to the Legislative Council in a form specified by the Legislative Council.

Excludes from the requirement elected constitutional officers, Supreme Court and Court of Appeals personnel, prosecuting attorneys, the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, and federally-paid military personnel.
