AR HB1815

Adds definitions to Arkansas Code for "child" (person under one year of age) and "parental leave" (paid leave for birth, adoption, court-ordered foster placement, or guardianship of a child)

Establishes paid parental leave program allowing state employees up to $750 per week for 6 consecutive weeks

Eligibility requires employees to be continuously employed for more than one year by a state agency, the General Assembly, Bureau of Legislative Research, Division of Legislative Audit, or Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department

Requires employees to use parental leave before accessing maternity leave, sick leave, annual leave, compensatory leave, catastrophic leave, or unpaid leave

Parental leave for foster placement or guardianship terminates if the child is removed from the employee's custody by the Department of Human Services or court order
