AR HB1925

Prohibits eight categories of elected officials from knowingly or willfully soliciting or accepting gifts from lobbyists, including the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Treasurer of State, Auditor of State, Attorney General, Commissioner of State Lands, and members of the General Assembly.

Defines "gift" as any payment, entertainment, advance, services, or anything of value unless equal or greater consideration has been provided in return.

Exempts informational materials such as books, reports, pamphlets, calendars, and periodicals related to official duties from the gift prohibition.

Excludes gifts from family members (spouse, children, parents, grandparents, siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and first cousins) unless the person is acting as an agent for someone outside the family.

Permits food or drink at public group events, campaign contributions, items readily available to the general public, gifts returned within 30 days, and devises or inheritances.
