AR HB2018

Allows candidates with written authorization to provide their criminal history information to state or county political party committee chairs for elected officials and candidates for elected office.

Criminal history information limited to in-state convictions and pending felony/misdemeanor charges occurring within three years of the request date; expunged records are excluded.

Establishes fee cap of $25.00 plus actual reproduction costs (not including personnel time) for criminal history information requests; fees may include mailing or electronic transmission costs.

Requires requesters to submit documentation verifying the person is an elected official or candidate, limited to notarized financial interest statements or similar documents created on or after January 1, 2014 and within one year of the request.

Directs requests for criminal history information to the Identification Bureau of the Department of Arkansas State Police, which must maintain a record of all persons requesting information under these provisions.
