Establishes legislative intent that joint tortfeasor rights apply equally after modification of joint and several liability under § 16-55-201, including allocation of fault and settlement credits.

Amends § 16-61-201 to define "joint tortfeasor" to include entities with joint or several liability, and adds definition of "several liability" as liability limited to damages allocated in direct proportion to each defendant's percentage of fault.

Amends § 16-61-202 to clarify that the right of contribution includes allocation of fault among all joint tortfeasors and rights under § 16-61-204, not limited to money damages alone.

Amends § 16-61-204 to establish that when injured person releases a joint tortfeasor, remaining defendants' damages are reduced by the greatest of: consideration paid, released tortfeasor's pro rata share, or amount specified in release; remaining defendants are entitled to a determination of released tortfeasor's pro rata share of responsibility.

Repeals §§ 16-61-203, 16-61-205, and 16-61-207(5); applies remedially to all causes of action accruing on or after March 25, 2003.
