AR HB2144

Amends Arkansas Code § 16-90-906 to allow individuals charged and arrested for any criminal offense where charges are nolle prossed, dismissed, or result in acquittal to file a uniform petition to seal records and have all related documents expunged.

Expunged documents include arrest records, citations, informations, indictments, petitions, orders, docket sheets, and any other case-related documents.

Upon entry of an expungement order, a uniform order to seal records may state that the charges, arrest, and resulting trial did not occur.

For misdemeanor offenses or violations, courts shall automatically grant the uniform petition to seal records and enter a uniform order to seal the records.
