AR SB1151

Amends Arkansas Code § 7-7-305(c)(1) and § 7-10-103(f)(1) regarding how candidates may display their names and titles on judicial election ballots.

Candidates for elective office may use no more than three (3) given names, one of which may be a nickname or identifying word, and may add a prefix showing an elective office they currently hold.

Court of Appeals candidates may use the "Judge" title prefix only if they are currently serving as an appointed Judge of the Court of Appeals and have served in that position for at least 12 months.

All other candidates for nonpartisan judicial office may use a judicial office title prefix only if they are currently serving in an elected judicial position from the last election for that office.

Nicknames are prohibited from including professional or honorary titles.
