Senate Bill 188 Summary

• Repeals Arkansas Code § 19-5-303(o) establishing the Garland County Community College Fund because the college merged with another institution to become National Park Community College, now funded by the National Park Community College Fund.

• Amends Arkansas Code § 19-10-212 to increase the liability reporting threshold from $10,000 to $15,000 for state agency claims filed with the Arkansas State Claims Commission.

• Reorganizes the reporting requirements to clarify that state agencies must file written reports with the Litigation Reports Oversight Subcommittee when claims involve a contract with the state agency or exceed $15,000, within 30 days of adjudication.

• Specifies that the Arkansas Lottery Commission shall file its liability reports with the Arkansas Lottery Commission Legislative Oversight Committee instead of the general oversight subcommittee.

• Preserves the force and effect of all acts passed during the Eighty-Ninth General Assembly regular session, allowing those acts to amend or repeal provisions of this act if they intentionally conflict.
