SB360 Summary

• Transfers all authority, powers, duties, and functions relating to cosmetology practice, licensure, and training from the State Board of Health and Department of Health to a newly created State Board of Cosmetology, effective July 1, 2013

• Creates an 11-member State Board of Cosmetology appointed by the Governor to five-year staggered terms, composed of one nail technician, two private school owners, two public institution directors/instructors, one aesthetician, and four other members including one consumer representative

• Amends cosmetology statutes throughout Title 17, Chapter 26 to replace references to the Department of Health with the State Board of Cosmetology for all licensing, examination, registration, and disciplinary functions
