AR SB501

Allows vehicle owners who have owned a personal-use vehicle for 12 months following initial registration to request multiyear registration for 2 or 3 years.

Requires applicants to provide proof of current insurance coverage, timely payment of property taxes for the preceding 2 years, and proof of vehicle assessment listing.

For 3-year multiyear registration, applicants must demonstrate property tax and insurance compliance for the preceding 3 years instead of 2 years.

Prohibits multiyear registration for vehicles that have not been continuously licensed and registered for the period the owner seeks to register for multiple years.

Becomes effective January 1, 2014.
