Public school district boards must hold regular monthly meetings during the school term, plus special meetings on call of the president, secretary, or any three board members, or when petitioned by 50 qualified electors stating the meeting purpose.

The superintendent must notify the board president at least 5 days before regular monthly meetings of all written agenda requests and provide recommendations, though requests may be denied if they prejudice student/personnel matters or conflict with policy or law.

Regular and special meetings dealing with personnel or personnel policies must be held after 5:00 p.m., except in emergencies; other meetings may occur at any time.

School districts must publish notice of regular meetings at least 10 days in advance on their website and notice of rescheduled meetings at least 24 hours in advance.

The board secretary must maintain permanent records including minutes, member attendance, vote outcomes, and copies of budgets and county treasurer financial reports; board members must be physically present to count toward a quorum or vote.
