Arkansas State University Red Wolves won the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Championship with a 45-0 victory over Middle Tennessee State University on December 1, 2012, in front of 31,243 fans at Liberty Bank Stadium in Jonesboro.

Red Wolves achieved back-to-back Sun Belt Conference championships in 2011 and 2012 with a combined 15-1 league record and became the first team in conference history to win 10 games in two consecutive seasons.

Arkansas State defeated Kent State 17-13 in the 2013 GoDaddy.com Bowl on January 6, finishing the season 10-3 with an eight-game winning streak, the second longest in the nation.

Senior quarterback Ryan Aplin was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive year and broke conference career records for total offensive yards, passing yards, and completions.
