AR HB1051

Creates the Public School Efficiency and Evaluation Task Force composed of 8 members: the House Education Committee chair (or designee), Senate Education Committee chair (or designee), 3 senators appointed by the President Pro Tempore, and 3 representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House.

Task force shall meet at least once every two months in Pulaski County at the State Capitol or another location with teleconferencing capabilities, with meetings called by the elected chair.

Task force purpose includes studying state and federal regulations applicable to public schools, reviewing Department of Education data and reporting requirements, and identifying laws or rules that can be modified or eliminated to improve school efficiency.

Task force shall file a written final report with findings and recommendations to the Speaker of the House and President Pro Tempore of the Senate on or before November 1, 2016.

Task force automatically expires on December 31, 2016.
