AR HB1148

Establishes a maximum of 212 regular employees for the Department of Human Services - Division of Aging and Adult Services for fiscal year 2015-2016, with positions ranging from Deputy Director to Administrative Specialist II.

Authorizes up to 18 temporary or part-time "Extra Help" employees at rates not to exceed those provided in the Uniform Classification and Compensation Act.

Appropriates $55,801,483 for personal services and operating expenses, including $9,712,696 for regular salaries, $3,341,000 for personal services matching, and funding for nutrition programs ($13,535,285), nursing home care alternatives ($6,787,525), and senior citizen centers ($5,000,000).

Appropriates $2,400,000 for Meals on Wheels transportation services, $70,000 for Arkansas Senior Olympics matching funds on a two-to-one state/local basis, and $20,000 for Ms. Senior Pageant expenses.

Takes effect July 1, 2015 and includes provisions authorizing use of state funds to match federal Title III and Title V Older Americans Act funds and specifying allowable uses for nursing home care alternative funding.
