AR HB1210

Amends Arkansas Code § 14-53-101 to allow city councils to contract for fire protection services as an alternative to establishing their own fire department.

Permits cities to enter into contracts or interlocal agreements with existing fire departments certified by the Arkansas Fire Protection Services Board.

Maintains the city council's authority to establish and operate its own fire department if it chooses not to contract for services.

Requires the city council to promulgate rules and regulations to govern the fire department under either arrangement.
