Alimony shall not be awarded to a person convicted of an offense involving domestic violence against the spouse who would be paying the alimony.

A conviction of an offense involving domestic violence against the payer spouse constitutes changed circumstances that allows the payer to petition the court to terminate an existing alimony award.

Modifies Arkansas Code § 9-12-312 to add restrictions on alimony awards based on domestic violence convictions.

Amends Arkansas Code § 9-12-314(a) to establish grounds for modification of existing alimony awards when the recipient is subsequently convicted of domestic violence against the payer.
