AR HB1750

Permits a community college's local board to be the board of trustees of a four-year institution of higher education or a university system board following a merger.

Allows control of a merged community college to be vested in the four-year institution's or university system's board of trustees, exempting those boards from standard community college governing provisions.

Enables the former community college governing body to become a board of visitors with functions determined by the merged institution's board of trustees.

Expands the title of community college executive officer from "president" to "president or chancellor" throughout governance provisions.

Declares an emergency effective immediately upon the Governor's approval to facilitate pending community college mergers.
