AR HB1836

Expands eligibility for Arkansas Governor's Distinguished Scholars to include graduates from any high school, not just those in Arkansas.

Requires the Department of Higher Education to ensure at least one Arkansas Governor's Scholar is selected from each of the 75 counties in Arkansas.

Allows the Department to select students from non-represented counties with the highest qualifications if initial selection does not include all 75 counties.

Maintains the annual award limit of 375 total scholarships: up to 300 Distinguished Scholarships and 75 Governor's Scholarships at $4,000 per year, with one scholarship guaranteed per county.
