AR HB1864

Amends Arkansas Code § 12-15-202(a) to explicitly include auxiliary law enforcement officers in the list of individuals eligible to carry concealed handguns while acting in that capacity.

Requires auxiliary law enforcement officers to meet seven eligibility conditions: be employed by a public law enforcement department, be authorized to carry firearms, have no disciplinary suspensions, carry proper badge and identification, not be prohibited under federal law, not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and have fingerprints on file with the Department of Arkansas State Police Automated Fingerprint Identification System.

Clarifies that disciplinary action disqualifying an officer from carrying a concealed handgun applies to certified law enforcement officers, auxiliary law enforcement officers, detention facility employees, and prosecutors equally.
