AR SB168

Creates the Arkansas Legislative Task Force on Law Enforcement Retirement to study retirement benefits for law enforcement officers under the Arkansas Public Employees' Retirement System and the Arkansas Local Police and Fire Retirement System.

Task force consists of 11 members including the Senate and House cochairs of the Joint Committee on Public Retirement and Social Security Programs, 2 senators appointed by the President Pro Tempore, 2 house members appointed by the Speaker, executive directors of both retirement systems, and the actuary for the Joint Committee.

First meeting must be called within 30 days of August 1, 2015, with subsequent meetings held at least quarterly in Pulaski County at the State Capitol; legislative members receive per diem and mileage at interim committee rates.

Task force shall present a final report to the Joint Committee on Public Retirement and Social Security Programs on or before October 1, 2016, and is automatically abolished on January 1, 2017.
