Commission may issue special permits per vehicle valid for either a single trip within 6 consecutive days or a 1-year period along a specified route for movement of sealed containerized cargo units on state highways.

Containerized cargo units must be part of international trade involving importation from or exportation to another country, with international bills of lading and customs documentation required before permit issuance.

Five-axle vehicles are limited to 20,000 pounds per axle with a total gross vehicle weight not exceeding 90,000 pounds; six-axle vehicles are limited to 20,000 pounds per axle with a total gross vehicle weight not exceeding 95,000 pounds.

Vehicles operating under permits must comply with legal width, length, and height restrictions and operators must carry documentation at all times.

One-year special permits shall not exceed $5,500 in charges; single trip permit charges are determined per existing commission procedures.
