All legislative committee meetings currently occur at 10:00 a.m. each morning during the legislative session, running concurrently with each other.

Concurrent scheduling makes it difficult for legislators to attend multiple committee meetings where they have bills or need to hear testimony relevant to voting decisions.

Concurrent scheduling also prevents public members from attending multiple meetings of interest due to scheduling conflicts.

The Senate Efficiency Committee and House Management Committee shall undertake a study to develop an alternate scheduling procedure for legislative committee meetings in future sessions.

An alternate scheduling procedure would improve legislative efficiency, encourage greater public participation in committee meetings, and enhance transparency of legislative actions and procedures.
