AR SJR2

Proposes a constitutional amendment limiting Arkansas General Assembly members to 5 terms in the House of Representatives and 3 terms in the Senate, with a maximum of 16 years total service whether consecutive or nonconsecutive.

Allows members who complete their sixteenth year of service during an elected term to serve until that term ends.

Counts combined years of service in both chambers toward the 16-year limit, with years of service beginning January 1, 1993 included in the calculation.

Excludes partial legislative terms from special elections and two-year Senate terms from reapportionment from the term and year calculations.

Requires approval by a majority of voters at the next general election to become part of the Arkansas Constitution.
