Heather Jackson, a senior at Caddo Hills High School from Caddo Gap, Arkansas, received the 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Award presented by Prudential Financial and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Jackson was nominated by Pike County 4-H in Murfreesboro, Arkansas for her volunteer work educating the community on disaster preparedness through presentations, brochures, day camps, and "home disaster packs" containing evacuation aid items.

She initiated her disaster preparedness project in 2009 following a tornado that struck Mena, Arkansas and has presented to more than 3,500 people at schools, 4-H events, and community gatherings.

The Senate of the Ninetieth General Assembly of Arkansas congratulates Jackson and recognizes her outstanding record of volunteer service, peer leadership, and community spirit.

A copy of the resolution will be presented to Heather Jackson by the Secretary of the Senate upon adoption.
