AR HB1007

Creates a civil cause of action against judges and justices in their individual capacity who made adverse decisions as a result of bribery and have been convicted of bribery-related criminal offenses in state or federal court.

Allows prevailing plaintiffs to recover costs, damages including punitive damages, and attorney's fees from judges or justices found liable.

Permits prosecuting attorneys to bring actions and use recovered proceeds to cover their costs, compensate crime victims, donate to nonprofit victims' rights advocacy groups, or donate to the State Treasury.

Establishes a 3-year statute of limitations beginning from the date the judge or justice is found guilty of or pleads guilty to bribery-related criminal conduct.

Permits actions to proceed against the estates of deceased judges or justices, and allows estates of deceased claimants to continue actions if the person died before the cause of action accrued or during pendency of the action.
