AR HB1741

Establishes the Blue Alert Notification System under the Arkansas Crime Information Center to issue rapid alerts following physical assaults on law enforcement officers.

Defines "physical assault on a law enforcement officer" as a physical act, threat, or attempted act that results or could result in death or serious bodily injury to an officer.

Authorizes the Crime Information Center to issue a Blue Alert when a law enforcement agency requests one and three conditions are met: the suspect has fled the scene, poses an imminent threat to the public or other officers, and public dissemination may help prevent further harm or accelerate apprehension.

Requires Blue Alerts to include a description of the suspected assailant and, if available, a license plate number or vehicle description.

Mandates the Crime Information Center provide Blue Alert information to any other entities in Arkansas that issue similar notifications.
