Fire departments must have access to a washer-extractor capable of 100 gravitational force (100 g-force) of spin installed by January 1, 2022, to be eligible for funding under Arkansas Code Title 14, Chapter 284, Subchapter 4.

Funding withheld from non-compliant fire departments is not redistributed and will be released upon certification of the washer-extractor installation.

Fire departments may enter into written interlocal agreements with other fire departments that meet the requirements to share access to a washer-extractor with reasonable notification.

County intergovernmental councils may purchase a single washer-extractor for shared use by all fire departments in the county, installed at a central location chosen by the county fire coordinator.
