AR HB1898

Requires state-supported institutions of higher education to reduce tuition for state employees and their dependents to at least 10% below the in-state resident tuition rate.

Institutions may reduce tuition more than the required 10% discount at their discretion.

Defines "state employee" as part-time or full-time employees of the State of Arkansas, its branches, departments, boards, bureaus, commissions, state-supported higher education institutions, or public school districts who are vested in a retirement plan.

Defines "dependent" as natural children, stepchildren, adopted children, or legal dependents of a state employee.

Reduced tuition eligibility requires maintaining a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and the employee must remain employed by the state.
