HVACR Licensing Board must establish a continuing education program with guidelines for instruction from state/county/municipal inspectors, equipment distributors, manufacturers, educational institutions, and trade organizations.

Active Class A and Class B licensees renewing licenses must complete annual continuing education consisting of up to 2 hours of code training and 2 hours of technical or business training, with option to substitute an additional 2 hours of code training.

Board shall assess a $5.00 per hour fee for continuing education to maintain the program.

Training includes face-to-face classroom, field, or laboratory instruction or board-determined online instruction.

Program becomes effective July 1, 2017; Board must promulgate rules by December 31, 2017; renewal applicants must provide proof of completion beginning July 1, 2018.
