State Athletic Commission retains sole discretion over combative sports matches and exhibitions, except as specified for professional wrestling events

Professional wrestling events with fewer than 1,500 spectators are exempt from surety bond, ambulance, and ringside physician requirements; commission may grant additional exemptions as appropriate

Professional wrestling events held for charitable purposes may be exempt from commission policies and fees if promoter notifies commission at least 10 days before the event and donates at least 20% of ticket fees to the charitable purpose

Promoters of professional wrestling events with fewer than 1,500 spectators are subject to inspection only once per year at a cost not exceeding $100; additional inspections allowed upon receipt of formal documented complaints

Amateur combative sports matches are governed by the commission unless sanctioned by a federally recognized sanctioning body and a national 501(c)(3) oversight body operating in at least six states, both approved in writing by the commission
