Beverly Carter, an executive broker in North Little Rock, Arkansas, was kidnapped and murdered in September 2014 while showing a house.

Her son Carl and family created the nonprofit Beverly Carter Foundation dedicated to improving safety in the real estate industry through research, training, consulting, and support provided at no charge to agents and brokerages.

The foundation will provide instructor-led training using behavioral science and predator profiling to help agents minimize risk of being targeted, deter predators, and prevent attacks.

The foundation will develop educational resources, implement safety programs, provide victim support through a relief fund, and advocate for legislation to improve real estate agent safety.

The House of Representatives supports the formation of the Beverly Carter Foundation and its mission to create a safer industry for all real estate agents.
