Designates the week of February 27, 2017, through March 4, 2017, as Arkansas Saves Week to raise awareness about the importance of saving money, reducing debt, and building wealth.

Recognizes that only 2 out of 5 households report good or excellent progress meeting savings needs, and only 43% have automatic savings outside of work, according to 2016 America Saves Week survey data.

Notes that over half of Arkansas citizens risk financial disaster due to insufficient savings in the event of job loss, health crisis, or other emergency, per a 2013 Southern Bancorp press release.

Encourages all Arkansas citizens to visit www.americasaves.org and take the America Saves pledge to enroll in an automatic savings plan.

Supports the goals of America Saves Week, which coordinates national efforts to promote financial security and prevent poverty, homelessness, and related social problems.
