AR SB23

Amends Arkansas Code § 6-20-604(c)(3) to increase the density ratio qualification for special needs isolated funding from 1.3 to 1.5 students or less per square mile.

Allows public school districts with lower population density to qualify for additional state funding to support isolated district operations.

Declares an emergency clause to ensure funding is available for affected school districts to budget for the upcoming academic year.

Became effective upon gubernatorial approval on February 6, 2017.
