• Prohibits private employers from preventing employees with concealed handgun licenses from storing handguns in locked private vehicles in employer parking lots, provided the handgun is lawfully possessed and either in a locked personal storage container or the employee possesses the key to such container.

• Allows licensees to carry concealed handguns in private employer parking lots under the new section 5-73-324, creating an exception to the general prohibition on carrying handguns in places where employers post proper notice.

• Grants former employees criminal immunity for possessing handguns in their private vehicles while immediately leaving a former employer's parking lot following termination.

• Creates civil liability for employers who violate the statute, allowing injured persons to sue for damages and permitting wrongfully terminated employees to recover reinstatement, lost wages, benefits, and attorney's fees.

• Shields employers from civil liability for damages caused by handguns transported or stored under this statute, except where the employer intentionally solicited or procured actions involving those handguns.
